The first iPhone theft

iphoneRemember the problems with game consoles being stolen at launch time? Remember armed holdups on people waiting in line with cash in pocket - to buy 360’s, PS3s, and Wiis?

Has anyone stopped to consider what may happen on the 29th with the iPhone? Imagine a lineup outside of an Apple store or an AT&T store at midnight with 20 people each with over $600 cash on them. Makes a mighty profitable target ($12,000.00 for those counting) 2 guys with guns could easily handle a crowd that size. Unless of course someone in the line is armed.

I’m sure it won’t be long until we see the headline. “iPhone robbery victims start shootout.”

Maybe I’m over-reacting. Maybe most people lining up plan to pay by credit card, Maybe there’ll be enough security round the clock to prevent something like this happening, I dunno. All I know is an iPhone is a big target to a thief. Be careful out there.

Just a thought.

How about an attempted theft of an iPhone itself, instead of an attempt to rob people waiting to buy one? http://www.break.com/index/iphone-jacking-attempt-on-live-tv.html

    D.

I was a victim, I was shot in the face, over, and over again. I was lying on the floor, twitching, talking to my wife, and I died, good tihng They gave back the iPhone, or I would have died!
