Dell refuses to support your computer if you downgrade Vista to XP

DellBuyer beware if you decide you have to have XP after purchasing it with Vista your extended warranty will not be honored and you will be paying for Dell On-Call support if you expect any help from them. Its time to think about buying your new MAC. If you’ve already been screwed by this. Bear in mind it is possible to get a refund from Microsoft on OEM installed Vista.

    This may no longer be the case. Microsoft has simplified the downgrade process to XP. Dell is also selling systems with XP loaded again.
